We are looking for a Director of Procurement to build and lead our marketplace supply side from the ground up. You will be responsible for strategically growing the Freight Forwarders base that sell their services on FreightMango by being our freight forwarders’ key point of contact and subject matter experts for driving supply to match demand. You will be accountable for sourcing competitive capacity, while meeting logo volumes, primarily focusing on building win-win relationships where our vendors get access to the long tail of shippers at a lower CAC and OPEX while delivering competitive supply. You will work directly with our sales, marketing, product and technology teams to drive improvements in customer experience and to make our product more intuitive to require fewer human touchpoints. This position will report directly to the CEO.
You are a seasoned leader and expert in the cross-section between logistics and technology with connections with Carriers and Freight Forwarders. You will be a key part of our leadership team to drive sustainable, international business growth. You will first grow the U.S. inbound, outbound market, and can be a key stakeholder in expanding into other key international trade hubs to drive global growth.
What You'll Do:

Building the sourcing strategy based on our demand segmentation strategies

Implementing effective pricing/capacity updating process with different vendors primarily through API’s and/or Spreadsheet updates

Creating an amazing seller experience that can be developed into our product

Creating the playbook for growing international supply as we scale our business to different regions/verticals

Establish relationships with key personnel in the Freight Forwarder/ Carrier Space

Work cross-functionally daily with our global operations team, customer success, and sales team

Develop training materials and standard operating procedures to drive consistent, scalable results
-
Perform research and identify new potential partners and new market opportunities

Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency

Evaluate projects using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective vendors
What You'll Need to Have:

10 Years of international freight forwarding experience
-
Start-up Experience of Seed to Series B/C is preferred
-
5+ years of driving high level relationships

A good track record of growing and maintaining a network of partners

Knowledge of CRM software, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent negotiation skills

Consistently demonstrate high levels of personal drive and full engagement

Analytical mind and strong quantitative skills

Strong articulation and presentation

While this is a flexible-location position, being based in Greater Los Angeles is preferred
